The auto industry is one where constant developments and improvements are implemented. Year after year, car makers strive to improve their vehicles to outdo the competition. For the 2007 model year, a new wave of vehicles received upgrades from players in the auto industry. One company which has taken steps to upgrade one of the vehicles in their lineup is the Japanese brand Nissan. This year, the company delivers an upgraded version of the 350Z. The Z-car, as the 350Z, is called received its first revisions last year and it seems that Nissan is not through with their improvements on the coupe first introduced in August of 2002 as the new bearer of the Z-car title. Last year, the interior and exterior of the 350Z was subjected to readjustments to make it look cooler and perform better. The 2006 model year also saw the power of the 350Z increase to 300 horsepower for versions sporting a manual-automatic transmission while for those equipped with automatic gearboxes, horsepower was increased to 287. While the improvements made last year for the coupe may be enough for some car manufacturers to leave until after two years or so, it does look like Nissan sees it fit that for this model year, the 350Z will look even cooler and perform even better. The improvement on the Nissan 350Z is apparent immediately in the hood. The new design of the hood gives the 2007 Nissan 350Z looks like it is quite ready to burn rubber anytime. The hood now sports what is called as the power bulge. The seemingly raised hood gives a feeling to a viewer that the car hides a giant of an engine under the hood. While the hood offers a look of power, the engine provides power. The 2007 version of the Z-car sports Nissan’s VQ-series V6 engine. The 3.5 liter V6 engine developed by the car maker provides 306 horsepower. This marks the second year that the Z-car received improvement in its powerplant. The power from the new V6 engine is transferred to the drive wheels via precision engineered transmissions. There are two choices of gearboxes available for 350Z buyers - a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic transmission. Both of which facilitates the smooth transfer of power from the engine to the wheels - power that will take high quality brake components from Active Brakes Direct to effectively keep in check. The new Nissan 350Z comes in different trim packages which the company designed to fit different driver’s preference on their vehicles. The 350Z comes in different trim packages like the Enthusiast, Touring, and Grand Touring. It can be remembered that last year, a Track trim package is included in the lineup but Nissan discontinued the trim package in this year’s offering of the Z-car.
