Creating Internal BackUp
Creating Internal BackUp
By: Indra Zakki
We need to backup our important files in to a save place because bad thing may be happen to us like virus or the OS is gone wrong or etc. Some people think about backup important files after their hard to access their files because there is something wrong with the OS or the virus attack. You see that backup is very important.
We can create backup not only in the External Hard Drive but also in the internal Hard Drive. If you do not have budget to create backup in the External Hard Drive you can do backup in the internal Hard Drive by doing:
Backup on the Hard Drive partition
If you have a big capacity of Hard Drive you can create back up by placing the backup files in to the other partition of your Hard Drive. But first you must create the Hard Drive partition. The main mean of Hard Drive partition is dividing the Hard Drive capacity in to several drives. The strategy of backup by doing Hard Drive partition is this; you save the OS on the main drive (usually drive C:) and all the data you save in the partition drive or you save the OS and the data at the main drive but you also save the data in the partition drive. So with this strategy when your OS is broken your data will still be save in the partition drive.
Backup by cloning the Hard Drive
When you clone your Hard Drive, you will have the same exact files including the OS. When your main drive is broken you still have the clone of the Hard Drive and you can copy back to your Hard Drive when your main Drive is fixed. To save the clone of the Hard Drive you will need a big capacity of the Hard Drive because the clone capacity has the same capacity of all your files including the OS in the Hard Drive.
Backup by using the Restore Point
Do you know that windows have provides the backup restore point it called System Restore. With this system restore, if your system not running well you just have to back to the point before that your system setting works. This is the step of creating restore point in the windows OS.
Start – Programs – Accessories – System Tools – System Restore - At the right side area there are two options: Create Restore point and Restore my computer to an earlier time - Choose the Create Restore point options – Next - Fill the description – Create.
You must constantly creating backup of your files and you must create schedule for this to make your backup up to date. The risk of creating internal backup is that you place the backup at the same Hard Drive with Hard Drive source. So when physical damage happen to the Hard Drive your backup will be lost too.

how can i use norton ghost software to clone my system?
i'm totally confused i didn't use any recovery software .how can i clone (backup) my whole system using norton ghost. i have a 250GB HDD IWANT TO CLONE WHOLE 250 GB ,SUPPOSE IF I CLONE THEN HOW MUCH WOULD BE THE SIZE OF THE BACKUP FILE.if the size of the backup would be the size of the original data then what is the use of using the software i can separately write ithe data onto a dvd or any other media.why MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE USE RECOVERY SOFTWARE(NORTON GHOST,............)_?????.SUPPOSE IF I CREATE A BACKUP FILE OF LETS SAY 30GB EVEN THEN I HAVE TO STORE THAT BACKUP FILE ON DVD ?????? PLSSSSS ANS MY Q PLS I'M IN REAL TROUBLE
I believe that if you clone 250 GB, it will give you a 250 GB file - though I'm guessing you haven't used up ever last megabyte on your hard drive, so it will only clone YOUR data. Norton Ghost is a bit-by-bit cloner, allowing you to take your hard drive, and make a perfect copy of it, so if your hard drive dies, all you have to do it put the ghosted copy on a new hard drive and, BOOM, you're back up.
Though, I'm not sure if it gives you the 250 GB file, or a compressed file.
Backing up
In the first part of Backing Up, I started the ball rolling on the idea of backing up your data and using DVDs as a backup media. In this second part, we take a look at how I personally back up my data. In the first part, I talked about “Saving Early and Often” and that “A File Only Exists if It Exists in Two Places”. Personally, I take both saying to heart.
