How can i format hard disc during window setup?

I use window 98 SE setup cd. I don't use floppy diskette in order to boot cause the cd is self bootable.

There are a LOT more things to mention here just because of W98SE, but ...

When You get to the drive prompt, just put in a blank floppy disk, and type format a: /s

This will make a bootable floppy disk, which will speed up Your system oot process to make everything work faster and easier.

Once You do that, use the boot floppy, then put the D in the drive after You're back at the a: prompt.

Then You can run the setup from the from the CD, but first ou want to run fdisk. make a partition that's set to active, reboot (with CD out), and run fdisk again to be sure it partitioned correctly. Then reboot and format that partition with the format c: command.

Once You have a partitioned and formatted hard drive, You should be good to install W98SE.

Now for the basics on the rest of the stuff - Any version of W98 or older can be substitued for Windows ME (Millenium), and should run on the same hardware faster, more reliably, and will support more hardware options better.

If You have any choice in the matter, get a $5.00 disc of WinME and use it instead. You'll only run into more, and more difficult, prioblems with anything older.

There are only *2* OS'es that matter anymore for any hardware from MS ... WinME, and WinXP.
