Ice Fishing - 5 Ideas To Become An Expert Ice Fisher

Planning is what can mean the difference between a thoroughly enjoyable and successful fishing trip and a disappointing one that is a failure. We have put down a checklist so you can judge for your own self exactly how prepared you are to go ice fishing.
Buy early

Do make it a point to get a list of supplies down on paper. This should include everything you could possibly need - probably all that you did use in the last season, and everything you missed then. A. The all-important hole on the floor of the ice
To put it in a nutshell, make a nice clean hole into the ice. It would remain restrained at one region and ruin your chances of taking that prize catch home with you. Do not let any barrier intrude on your clean hole.

B. Fish as much as you can with the big four.

The fishing bait is one thing you just cannot go fishing without: so stock up nicely on all kinds of worms that you may need. It is a great idea to keep your bait separate from each other in different containers, and even better to keep them alive as long as you can. Remember the more bait you have left the more can you fish, so carry as much as you can.

C. Cleanliness can go a long way Clean
Do take the time to make an inspection of your gear before you get out to go fishing. Check out your rods and reels and make sure they are clean and in perfect working conditions. Use the Q-tips to help make out the grime from every corner of every groove on the ice rod. Remember to use the non-freeze type of oil to lube the reels.

D. Remain Comfortable
You are not going to be able to fish in peace if you are not feeling very comfortable. So take some heating equipment with you when you go ice fishing. Heaters and propane cylinders can go a long way to turn your trip into a success.

E. A little more on comfort
Ice can really get harsh on your skin, but there is no need to feel its harshness totally when you are ice fishing. Use an ice tent to help keep you warm, and do remember to lube the joints of the tent with non freezing type of oil. Check your tent surface for damages well before your trip so you have the time to order a repair kit and get the job done.

I have four communal topical fish, 2 out of the 4 of them in the tank are missing their tail, why?

they live in a 10 gallon tank, each of them is about an inch long, the fish are a cardinal tetra, two are "glowfish"one red and one yellow and the other is a Zebra Danio. The two missing there tails are the cardinal tetra and the yellow glowfish. Why is this happening?

Check the edges of their tails! are the edges white and maybe fluffy looking? this would be from a disease called fin rot! it is caused by poor water quality. This can be fixed in two simple steps. . .

1) Buy a treatment for fin rot. . . using the right dosage add the treatment to the water (remember to remove any carbon filter before you do this).

2) Once the disease has been treated and symptoms have receded (probably after a week or so) do your best to improve the water quality of your tank (gravel siphoning, water changes, filter cleaning and filter sponge cleaning).

Note: Good water quality and a healthy diet for your fish are the best ways to prevent disease.
