What college do I have to go to and what do I need to learn to become a video game designer/animator ?

I live in Chicago, and I am headed toward my goal to become a videogame designer/animator. What school can I go to or where would I have to go, so I can learn to fulfill my dream and be a video game designer/animator? Any help or information would be great thank you...

There's the Programmer, who deals with all the numbers and such. Extensive software and computer knowledge is required for this.

Then we have the Music staff that icludes voice actors, composers and such. We also have the Graphics team, that focuses on 3D design and so on.

There are plenty of other jobs, and they vary by company. A team can consist from 20 to 200 people working on a single game.
I'm not really sure what designers do, but what I know is that they need problem solving skills and such.
