I have a 1961 magnavox Sterophonic High-fidelity Turntable is slow running looking for repair to solution?

There is a clip in the center of the turntable that holds it in. Remove the clip with a small screw driver, and the turntable will come up. Underneath you will find a small rubber ilder wheel. Speed is changed when the idler wheel is moved up and down along the different diameters on the motor shaft. Get some isopropyl alcohol and a rag, and make sure that wheel gets a real good cleaning. also it may be wise to take the clip from the center of the idler and remove it, and clean the shaft it sits on, and put some oil on the shaft before putting the wheel back on. Also oil the shoulder and bearing that the turntable goes back on before replacing it. Also make sure the motor spins freely. While holding the idler wheel away from the motor shaft, and spin the motor with your fingers like you were launching a top. It should be nice and free. If not then It will also need to be taken apart, cleaned, and oiled. That should do it.
