On Flight Simulator 2004, does anybody else's airplanes veer off to the left when flying and taking off?

I am wondering this because unless I physically turn the joystick to the right, I cannot keep my airplane steering straight like it should. I have windows vista, with a joystick I was using for my windows xp computer, microsoft extreme 3D Pro, Any tips on configuring to make the airplanes fly and drive straight?
