I'm going to try to explain this as best I can. My school uses a network access client (cisco clean access agent), and it has ridiculous requirements such as it forces us to use McAfee Anti-Virus (I'm a fan of Sunbelt's 'Vipre' ", and I tried to get around it. The way I tried this was that our school allows us to online game by registering our MAC address of the console. (therefore surpassing the need for a NAC).

Sounds like the network policy is set to block aim and facebook or any social networking sites.
