PDA not a smartphone?

Hi I have been looking for a PDA but i dont believe I want a smartphone. I want it for simple purposes, Typing up notes and amending work that I have which is in office 07 format, keeping track of my schedule and maybe a bit of wifi which is available at uni campus.
